#ootd : Nichii

I gave up on Nichii in 2011. I was quite disappointed with the quality of the materials, tailoring and also the cheap-like design that they had tho once I was their loyal buyer. Since then, I never set a foot in their store, ever.

It was a few months back that I saw they now have a nice colors and design in store but I still haven't recovered from the "heartbreak" lol. Then my sister did say something about how nice their collections are now but I still don't believe it. Then I saw Vivy promoting Nichii on IG. Turns out Nichii is one of the brand who's using FV as their online platform. Stillllll... I was sceptical. Well, it's Vivy anyway. Give her a rice sack also she can turn it into some nice expensive looking couture!

But, few weeks ago I finally decided to check out their store with my sister and oh boy their collections now are very nice with an affordable price tag of course. I am loving all their latest season pattern & colors also design! Had a hard time choosing which so end up grabbing 3 although I make a vow not to shop for clothes anymore (I make that promise a lot, don't I?). What I love about them are how nicely fitted the blouse is to my body. I always have a problem where the length of the sleeves are too long compared to my short arm (T_T) but not Nichii (so far)

Anyway, here's one of it. I pair the top with an electric blue pants and a white heels. My usual personal photog was on MC that day, but the top was too beautiful to waste so I decided to take a mirror selfie. Hehe sorry about that.

Anyway, check out Nichii if you haven't yet.

#ootd ~ Pelikat Skirt.

I love everything about Malay heritage. Don't you too?

Recently, I got my eyes fixed on this pelikat trend. With batik is now too mainstream and songket is just crazy expensive, pelikat is the alternative if you want to go traditional.

I spotted a lot of pelikat kurung, and pants but what I do have in mind is a skirt. I am thinking of modernise it so that I can wear it to work so I tailored it to become a fitted A-line skirt which can also be worn with a slightly short plain kurung top or even a kebaya for more traditional look.

Pair it with a plain basic white top and throw a blazer on top for more serious look. Nude heels and grey cotton scarf and accessorise with a metal belt to complete the look.

Tell me what do you think?

Get Together ~ The Asia Spa, Modvier & Dip n Dip

It's so hard to hang out with friends frequently now. With all those commitments with work, family, kids, and everything in between, let's face it, hanging out with friends will be at the very bottom of our list. Price to pay of being grown ups.

But yesterday I get the privillage of spending a quality time with my friends. A solid two hours of spa at The Asia Spa, Jalan Yap Kwan Seng.

It was really nice and by the end of the session, all of us were fully recharged!

My roomate for 2 hours getting half naked together. Haha. I was wearing a MNG off-white top and a flowery jeans from Jaspal. Love the jeans!

Missing one of us here. She arrived a bit late and still getting massage and whatnot in the room. To kill time waiting for her let's snap snap!

Went to Bangsar for a shopping trip to Modvier and tea time at Dip n Dip afterwards.

Yep. Smiling. Wanna know why?

Okey now, drool!

#OOTD : Bright

I always torn between pattern or plain. Plus with head scarves, sometimes pattern do look a bit ermm busy.

Yesterday, I wore one of my own "trial and error" upcoming project collection to work. I love the color combo also the pattern and tho I find it a bit too bright for work, I proceed since yesterday was my gloomy day and I was trying to cheer myself up.

Pair it with dark choco patent pump that I long for since the last 6 months and finally bought it last weekend. Major love. The color is so unique.

Anyway, still in fabric hunting phase for my upcoming project and really hope i will be able to proceed. With the costing, pricing, marketing, production issue place, please pray that everything will fall smoothly eventually.

Lots of Love.

#OOTD: Pose with Attitude?

I love #ootd. If you don't know it already!

I just love how we can transformed by just a click, a nice filter and the right angle.

Like this one here. I swear that if you're happen to work with me, you'll see fats bulging all over the place. (Two kids here, helo helo. Cut me same slack) but in this photo.... wallah! All gone. But yalah, the poyo face is still there no filtering remove that. Hehe. I really need to learn how to give more attitude and smize, then need to slim down a bit.

For now. Poyo face rocks! Hehe.

Suit Up!

I am crazy over suits! I'm similar to Wak Doyok with his #akuyangpakaikauyangpanas hashtag. Hehehehe.

Lucky I work at the bank so the air-cond is so cold I swear sometimes I saw snow falling from the ceiling (kidding don't take it seriously please)

But I don't know why, it's so hard for me to get a nice fitting blazer that compliment my figure. So once I found it, #ootd is a must!

The mustard color blazer is one of my successful buy. I wore it quite often that it started to age. Sad.

Then pair it with H&M printed pants and my most recent love affair = white heels.

#OOTD : Police Traffic Pants.

I own this piece of pants for quite some time and it never fail to bring such attention when I wore it to office. They called me traffic police, athlete, you name it! But it is still my favorite piece to wear.

It's in between a boring black pants and a patterned pants. I don't need to suit up for a meeting like I normally did when I wore patterned piece yet I still look less boring.

Fueling up on coffee before we proceed to a serious business. :)

If I am the Mayor of This Beautiful City

Fooling around while walking to have lunch.

If I am the mayor of this city, I'll restore the buildings here at old KL area. I'll save it for local business owner to sell local products - be it local cafe, clothes, accesories, anything. As long as it spells Malaysia at heart.

You have no idea how beautiful this area was and still is ~

But because I am not, and we're a capitalist even if we deny it. Those buildings are now left ugly, foreigners make the upper floor cramped as their home and lower floor selling their things. I see less and less tourist around compared to few years ago.

Makes me sad.

Well. We can still hope. Hope for a change. Make a change.

#OOTD : Metal Belt

I'm currently in love with the metal belt that I bought from fashionvalet. I can see that it will be perfect with lots of my outfit. It will add some kind of edgy-ness to my somewhat plain outfit.

For this look, I matched the belt with a dress which I also got it from fashionvalet. The dress is a bit too big for me so the belt really help to switch the attention away from the oversized dress.

Can't wait to rock it with my other outfit inside my closet. I got a feeling that I will overuse this belt for quite a long time.

The Wardrobe Quest : Black "awesome" Flats

Though I make a vow not to add anything to my shoe rack this year, there's an exception to buy a black flats. My bunion has starting to show, and I'm afraid it will get bigger if I still wear heels all the time.

But my quest for a black flats is not any black flats, must be an awesome one.

How awesome u ask?

The insole must be padded, the lining is between fabric or soft leather, the price is affordable and it must suit both office and daily use.

Since it's a flat shoe and the color I was looking is black, I thought the quest must be somewhat easy.

Well, it's not actually. Most of the nice ones are not padded (including the high-end famous designers) and the padded ones..hmm let's just say the pattern is suitable for my grandma.

But finally, I found it. The love of my feet.

Excuse the little hand.

It was from M&S. I was looking for something else actually when accidentally saw this gem.

It is leather upper with padded fabric lining inside. Wide fit, padded sole and super comfy when I tried it on.

Closer look at the leather.

It cost me only RM199 for such a good quality shoe. Goodbye designers. Haha. (Okey I lie, I still love you for some other reason)

This should be the end of my shoe quest for 2014.

Gong Xi Fa Chai

I want to update on more meaningful stuff. But I must say I have no spare time, for now.

Taking care of the two kids really used up all my (whatever left) energy. Since i'm working thru daylight, I try my best to give 110% attention to my daughters once I'm home. I think all working mums do this.

It's a long holiday for KL-ites starting tomorrow. I try my best to update more and for the mean time, my #ootd is sufficient, no?

My maxi is from Fashionvalet and blouse from thepoplook.

Gong Xi Fa Chai to all my Chinese friends!

Fifty Shades of Blue

Not a big fan of blue. Self-proclaimed.

Yet, most of my outfit is blue. Maybe a blue monster possessed me when I did my shopping. Yes. That must be it.

I found it hard to match blue with any color in my wardrobe to make it pop. Pair with red, or yellow? Too bright. Pair with black or nude? Too boring. Must be me then. Self reminder, stop buying blue! Any kind of blue.

Well today, I choose to wear all sorts of blue shades in one go. Haha! Greyish blue maxi skirt, electric blue top, dark blue jacket, and light blue skarf.

Don't really like the assemble but don't hate it too.

And today, I figure out a way to pose that make me look super tall and super skinny.

You think so too? LOL!

A Confession of a Wardrobe Junkie

Lately, I feel bad each time a take a peek inside my wardrobe.

I have no idea what happen to me. A sign of ageing maybe. I used to love to have a limitless choices in my wardrobe with abundance of clothes and bags and shoes. A huge walk in wardrobe used to be my ultimate goal in life. I even work hard for the sake of that kind of wardrobe to be mine someday.

But recently, I feel bad each time I saw most of my clothes, bags and shoes that I wore only once or worst never been worn before even though I've bought them like ages ago.

But fret not. I still love shopping. Haha. I just have to be a bit choosy when it comes to buying things I need (want). Better to invest more on quality pieces that I would wear rather than buying everything on the shelves and later shove them at the back of the wardrobe.

So my latest #ubah2014 is to challenge myself to limit my buying focusing on quality rather than quantity, need rather than want.

To do so, I need to to:
(a) Figure out my style - work & casual.
(a) Take out everything that I currently owned and start to cut down to pieces that I wear the most.
(b) Keep basic items and try to complement things that I have in my wardrobe so they can be as versatile as it can be (work and casual)
(c) Figure out what else I need and add up item with pieces that have value for money.

Let's see if this plan will work out between us - me and my wardrobe.

Daily Wear : Monochrome and Dark Green

My wardrobe has lots of black and white inside. I notice that from vibrant hue previously, I am now slowly filling the space with more black, white, pastels and natural colors. And my bag choice will always be brown.

Boring? Not really.

My life adventure when it comes to colors now focus only on scarves and shoes as I find it very easy to mix and match pastels or naturals hue with vibrant colors accessories than wearing one instead.

Like today.

I recently fall back in love with bawal scarf, now that I know how to style it. I have a love-hate relationship with it. Still remember I hate it a lot because of the limited boring style it gave that I ended up not wearing any just to be in style. Yeah right.

It's stupid. I'm stupid. You youngsters do not behave the way that I did. Promise?

One of the simple yet successful style I'm wearing today.

Special Date

I was 31 years old on 8th January this year.

Oh boy, I felt old. I was 24 or 25 when I first start writing. Haha.

Even I feel old, do you know people claim that women are most attractive in their early 30's? Looking at this picture, do u think so?

Bahahahahhahaha!

I think people say that because mostly, by this age most women already found their style and they wear it with grace. Also, most already stable financially and they can afford to be spend a bit more on style.

Furthermore, I think we are most attractive at this age because we are no longer afraid of people's opinion on us like we used to during our twenties, we don't feel the need to follow the trend just to feel accepted and mostly, we are smart enough to act and react only to the things matter to us and to laugh and appreciate every moment be it a  challengeor blessing that coming towards us.

For more years to come (insya allah).

Happy 31st birthday to me.

For the Love of Leggings!

I'm a girly girl. I certainly love to dress up.

The only thing that motivates me to wake up every morning is the challenge of dressing up with whatever I have inside my wardrobe with this 37 weeks huge tummy. I do not have much maternity line to wear because I feel such a waste to buy something that I will only wear for few months. Plus, I do not plan to get pregnant again anytime soon (read:forever. Hehe)

I am most grateful for the invention of nice printed leggings and the fact that it is the current "IN" thing. Means that leggings are easily found in any stores! If not I will have to surrender and buy all those expensive and hideous maternity pants. Hehe. Speaking of which, why is the maternity pants so expensive?

But having to wear leggings while pregnant means that you have to know how to work it. Obviously "some" of your body part expand together with your tummy. A long cardigan/blazer can tame the bulge from showing while a tight tank top will enhance the cute tummy (so that someone will volunteer his/her seat in the LRT for you. Hehe)

Of course the other way will be pairing your leggings with an oversize long tops. Your choice. :p

My outfit of the day:-
Black blazer from Pure Career & tank top from Tesco.
H&M legging
Yellow small scarves from Bawal (Aidijuma)
Black Jelly Shoe from Jelly Bunny
Bag from Charles & Keith

Point of View

My view lately. Getting heavier is no fun. I salute mothers who miss 9 months of pregnancy. I know I am not and I wont.

Due in another month. I can say I don't do much preparation this time but more on mental preparation. Still remember how miserable I am during my 1st delivery. Young and naive. Haha. I bought a stroller way before my due complete with travel system but never bought any nursing bra or breast pump. That's the level of "naiveness" I was! Haha

Hope for the best this time around!

XOXO

Superstar : Etude Wonder Pore Freshner

I was browsing thru a magazine the other day and came across an advertisement promoting Etude Wonder Pore Freshener. Decided to give it a try, I was shocked and having a cheapo moment the second I saw the price tag. It's RM70 yaw! Ohh.. Don't be fool by the word freshener, it is actually a toner!

Since Etude is not the kind of brand that I heard a lot and it is from Korea (I never have thought that products from Korea can be that pricey), so I hold my thought from getting it first. I tried getting a sample from the SA but they said they have none. Pfftt. Afraid that the money will be wasted if it doesn't work wonder to my skin, I passed.

Then few weeks after, I saw my friend who was on vacation in Korea holding Etude's paper bag. I quickly whatsapp her to buy for me a bottle of the freshener since it was so cheap there and they also have few sizes. Y to the E to the A to the Y!

So yesterday was the 1st day I tried it on and it felt good. Love the smell, and the way it makes my skin feels. Not like the usual toner which sometimes makes me feel uncomfortable. But hey, it just day 1. At least give me two weeks before I can give full review ok?

Notes: Thinking of getting the moisturizer too. My Kiehl's will be finish in a week or two. :)

OOTD: Electric Blue & Dusty Pink

I don't really fancy blue but electric blue is an exception. But my most common problem is the color of hijab that I want to pair to complement the color.

Decided to go with dusty pink and it matches my super cheap necklace I got from Red Revenge (Paradigm Mall). Go check out their collections especially their clearance sections. Price dirt cheap starting from RM5. Worth every penny!

Work Wear : It Can Be Super Hard With Hijab

I don't know if it's only me, or most people feel the same way too. It's so hard for me to dress impressively to work with hijab without going overboard. It's either will be too common, too bold, too cheerful (with all the prints & colors), or simply too boring.

But maybe, that's just me.

Anyway, this is my recent work wear that I feel like sharing with you guys. Got the top from KWC for a cheapo price of RM40, maternity tight bought it at Sogo (don't ask the brand I forgot) for RM49, Rins & Roy heels, and Birdie Chiffon Curved Shawl from Fana Couture. (Go check out the blog.)

Btw, I super love Kenanga Wholesale City for the cheepo yet trendy stuff that they offer. But have to be careful with the material tho. Only buy if you feel worth it. Oh this deserve it's own post. Hehe.

19 weeks pregnant when this photo was taken . The tummy starts showing so have to be more creative to hide it. Haha.

So, do you like it?
